FEFCO 06xx

FEFCO 0600 — Rigid-type boxes

Rigid boxes made of two separate end pieces and a body, requiring assembly before use.

Flute profile

Glue flap GL, mm

Typically 25-30mm, independent of W.

Slot cut extension SE, mm

The slot separates the box's flaps (e.g. the classic 4-flap FEFCO 0201 case). Too narrow a gap makes the corrugated board buckle at the corners under its own thickness when the box is formed and closed, causing fish-tailing or a deformed case. A wider gap keeps overlapping flaps from binding the box out of shape during assembly.

5 Net Diagram

⚠ Flute direction in the diagram runs vertically, not across the width: folding along the flute is clean, folding across it bends poorly. Most constructs want the flute along H — that is the default assumption. Rotating the sheet changes this direction, so it is a separate manual choice, not an automatic pick for minimum waste — occasionally needed, but rarely; confirm with your production engineer.

Formulas & assumptions

Panel dimensions and cut/score length come from EngView's parametric formulas (EVLS.chm) and the general FEFCO/ESBO layout convention. Confirm GL and SE with your die maker for exact die matching.
